I'm hoping someone might be able to help me? I got a letter in the mail today saying "a lawsuit is being filed against you in the above-captioned matter" which shows my $4600 debt to Discover who is now represented by The Law Offices of Weltman, Weinberg & Reis. The document continues to say "you should be receiving the summons and complaint from the court in the near future". I then have the option of writing a letter within thirty days to prove the validity of this debt. Unfortunately this debt is only a year old and not even close to the SOL here in Michigan. I'm hoping for any advice on how I should proceed? Will I be sued and my personal stuff taken from my home? I just was laid off from work, have little to no savings, and rent an apartment? Should I get ahold of them and set up some sort of payment plan...or maybe wait until I get the actual summons? I Hate to file bankruptcy for just two delinquent cards Thanks alot, Sam
