credit card debt - statute of limitations

i have been reading the info that states there is a 7 year statute of limitation on credit card debt showing on your credit report. that starts with the original deliquency of the debt. my question is - is there any easy way to determine when that date actually was without going back and trying to find your old credit card statements?
