I dont think the know where I am--but actually the debts are not from California. I accumalted them when I lived in Illinois. I moved to california about 2.5yrs ago. But I have not been contacted at all by any credit card companies or collection agencies since moving. I know(from reading on this baord) that Disover for example is really big on wanting to collect and I have heard nothing from them.

also what is "Charged off" or whatver--I mean if like you say I dont pay any money, wont I still owe the money adn keep having interest rates added to the bills and wont my credit stay bad or negative until I pay the bills off.

If I hve to pay them, I will but it's not something I can do all at once--I just dont want to have problems in the future with finding an apartment or whatnot to live in. Right now it's ok because I get room and board for my job, but I would like my very own place within a year or so. I also have not used any credit cards at all or applied for any in 3-4yrs and I dont intend too. All I have is the debit/Check card-which works just fine.
Sorry for all the questions but I know nothing about credit or credit law. I dotn want to be unresponsible and not pay--but if I could get away with not paying, and not be in legal trouble or have my credit ruined for life, well it would sure help.
