Defaulted Student Loans - SOL Question

I was curious if there was a SOL from the time a student loan actually went into default and the time the defaulted loan had to stop being reported by, for example, the servicer or guarantor of the loan? Also, when exactly is a student loan considered in default? Thanks for any info in advance. WTF
