FCNB--terminating Master and Visa

received a note from FCNB stating that they no longer are carrying MC and VISA cards--still have balance on card--credit is good---can they do that? Asked if being sold to another company? Customer service rep did not know. Now i have a credit line but i am unable to use it. Should i only pay the minimal to pay it off?
