You can dispute the account to the CRA as "obsolete" IF the OC is not also on your report with the correct DOLA.

If the OC is reporting a chargeoff date in 1997, then you just have to wait until THAT account falls off (2004) and dispute the CA account as obsolete THEN. The CA's DOLA refers to THEIR last activity.
