letter for late pays

My wife and I moved from Florida to Georgia early last year and then from our previous address to where we are living now. We forwarded our new address to all of our credit card companies. JC Penney, however, must never have gotten theirs because we never received statements at our new address. We never really used the cards until the first address in Georgia and basically did not think about it until Kathi was shopping in JCP and they told her the payment was late.
It is showing that it was 30 days late in Jan and 60 days in Feb. I have since made a $100 payment to get it current. My question is this. What are the chances of getting them to remove the lates? We've had the account since 2001. We got slammed by a mortgage broker yesterday saying that FHA would not give us a loan because of that. thanks, Duke
