If they did not accept your proposal from the debt mgmnt company then they can do that. It is the same as never cathing up. Ie: you owed $200 in June and started the program in July--they pd out $50 based on the proposal from the debt mgmnt company, you still owe the $150 from June. They will ALWAYS take any money that is sent!!

Since the proposal was not accepted I am surprised that the debt mgmnt company did not refer you to call Direct Merchants to make other arrangements. They usually leave all of that up to you and for you to let them know what has been agreed on.

Also sounds like it was already in postion with a ca hired by them for in house collections. Be careful Direct Merchants is nasty to deal with.
