I posted on the board about 6 weeks ago about a credit agency letter received stating my husband owed a past debt of over $7,000. We live in WI and the date on this debt was from 1999. He was not able to recall having any such past account number or debt. Why Chat recommended sending a letter and attached the format for me to use. On the letter it stated they needed to provide proof that he owed this debt within 30 days. Well it is now 2 weeks past the 30 day mark and no response to the letter we sent certified mail. What is the next step?
