Yes, by all means dispute the claim of both the lawyer and the collection agency, letters to both, certified. File a copy with the court, start complaing with FTC and state of FL Attorney General.
By the way, what county is this? The reason I ask is that more and more highly questionable actions are being filed in the state of Florida and there are some entities which have taken an interest in these abuses. It would help to know so that various auditing resources could be directed to those counties which seem to enable these questionable practices by unscrupulous lawyers.
