I live in IL, and my last CURRENT payment to Cap 1 would have been over 2 years ago. My payments were late/infrequent for the past 2 years, and I stoppped paying altogether 7 months ago. I feel badly about that, and am trying to make up for i by actively hunting down my past balances and paying them in full.

I really don't want to talk to this man again - he actually frightens me. But I really am worried about being taken to court. This is the last of my accounts that has not been paid in full or for which payments have not been set up. I'd hate to see myself sued when I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. But I don't want to reward this man for his tactics, either.

My CR's have reflected my updated payment status on my other accounts, and for that I am happy. Unfortunately, I paid most collection agencies in full and didn't request they be removed from my CR's, or any sort of negotiations like that - I did not even think of it. I have a lot of work to do, but am trying to dig myself out of the hole.

Thank you for responding, and for listening.
