I know perfectly well what variable UL's are.

The agent who sold you this is required to have a securities license.

I personally, (with over 50 years experience in insurance, securities and investing) do not consider Universal Life policies, and especially variable policies a suitable investment vehicle for a family. However, I DO know the sale of these pays the highest commission rate in the business to the selling agent.

Just out of curiousity, how long have you had these? What is your index rate tied to?
