If i want to settle a debt after i have rec'd a summons would i send the offer to the attorney or to the creditor... I spoke with the attorney briefly and he would not speak to me unless i send a release to a cease and desist order that i previously sent to the creditor.... on the c&d, i ownly requested everything be in writing and not via telephone... the balance (on the summons also) is 3550. the creditor is citibank... what would a fair settlement be.. if i pay it in full (the 3550) would the credit report show paid in full...........also i was thinking of sending the court a motion for continuance (i rec'd summons 2 days ago) is it too early? i want to try to settle this without going to court.. thanks in advance...
