What they will do is ruin your credit report with a settlement. IT puts a profit/loss flag on your account and you will not be getting anything for awhile. Then they will turn around and resell the debt to a scum CA who will place the remaining amount on your credit report under a new tradeline. If you told them you are coming back that is mistake #1. You gotta make them believe you are not coming back so it is in their best interest to a full deletion or adios amigos.
