Hi Scott, thanks for your reply. Asset Accept has apparently purchased my account from Providian (credit card). Providian charged the account off in 3/2001. Asset Accept put an entry on all 3 of my credit reports as a collection account in 12/01. I'm trying to get a mortgage and I was told that I must clear all collections before I can obtain one, but I just don't trust Asset. Do you have any advice on how to deal with them? In regards to Arrow, they have been assigned an old account by Capital One (credit card), I have spoke with Arrow and they are pressuring me to make a settlement, but my understanding is that the settlement would really hurt me on the credit reports. Arrow has not make any entries on the credit reports and Providian is showing "charged off as bad debit". I am considering calling Capital One and make an attempt to pay them directly, rather than waiting for Arrow to report this on my credit. What do you think?
