Was the 1099c for the total amount of the unpaid portion of the loan?

When you "turned over" the boat, what paperwork did you and they sign?

Was there an agreement that the balance due was "forgiven", and/or that you would nt be liable for any deficiency on the resale?

It is POSSIBLE that there was a miscommunication between the bank and the collection agency lawyer.
