The guy is a liar plain and simple. He cannot do anything with the providian tradeline. Unless you find some alternate way of removing it will stay. Also, you do not want the account with asset to be changed to paid. A paid collection is as bad as an unpaid collection. You want it deleted. Never give your bank info. Never talk to them on the phone. Never do anything without it in writing. I hear 'the settlement is in the mail or fax' all the time. What I never hear is the cosumer actually receiving it.
