we have a $168 balance at a dentist (an old bill) that we have owed for a little over a year. its been turned over to a collector. i decided to go ahead and make payment arrangements with the dentist and sent a c&d letter to the collector. i sent a payment letter with a request for acceptance and a signature. i got the sig but she wrote that "it has been turned over to a collector so pay accordingly". how should i respond to this? does it mean the dentist will not accept the payments?
one of the sentences that was in my letter was "in addition, any references to late payment or charge off regarding this account are removed from my credit file". and i got her to sign off on it!

now what do i do?
