The debts are two years old. What can they do with my account number? Also, I've been going through several websites and books, and they recommend that I should only deal with the original creditor, but Ladynred said that the original creditor would probably not even want to talk to me if the account had been charged off. That makes sense, however, what has been your experience? Should I make a settlement with the original creditor, or the collection agency? If I make a settlement with the collection agency, how can I get the listing from the original creditor show up as "paid" or disappear (since I've already paid it)?
