Dear Papillon;

Flo-ree-duh is beginning to resemble the tropical gulag in which your namesake was imprisoned. Perhaps the pseudo-conservative politicos here are using the state as petri dish to best figure just how to unburden us of our assets.

This debt is gone, long gone. Dig up anything in your records you might have. Send letter to CRA's tenderly advising of your intent to sue. After all, the account was updated somehow by them.
It's very telling that so many of these inquiries about SOL debts originate from the Sunshine State. Camco like its inbred cousins F.A. Management Solutions and AssXXXX Acceptance Corp. are becoming tedious, very tedious. They are playing SOL roulette, harassing people with illegal threats of time-barred lawsuits over long dead accounts in hope the'll get lucky. It bugs them to no end when folks learn their rights and smash them back, as you are doing.
Immediately start complaint with FTC and FL State AG and Banking Division. Let them know right away that the price of messing with you is far too steep even for their gouty, lard enriched blood. Indeed send Validation & Dispute letter ASAP via Certified Return Receipt Mail, and mail a copy via regular mail, it lets them know you're sincere.
From the sound of it, they won't be able to verify given the age, thus they are supposed to abstain from any further collection activity. Also, post so Scott on this board, he's putting together a nice, friendly class action suit or two against these cow-flop crawlers. Stay in touch, injustice is a fun insect from which to pluck the wings.

Regards,

K.
