no, my mom has no assets or property or house. and dad did'nt have a will or probate proceed since he left nothing but bills. The letter addressed by the law firm was to ask if there is any probate proceeding and who is handling the liqudation of the deceased's debts. and we need to respond in 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt otherwise they will assume the debt is valid. and the letter further said this is an attempt to collect a debt from the estate and any info obtained will be used toward that end. Should I dispute the debt and ask for verification? Should I even call them up? What is the chance that they will persue that in court even though mom has no assets or money?
