In general, there is a $1,900 exemption (includes both vehicles).

It would be VERY difficult for anyone to exercise seizure and sale of your cars after obtaining a judgment. They would have to have an order of seizure from the Court, have them taken by the sheriff, and have them sold at auction after paying YOU, your 50% of the net proceeds, and your husband $1,900 exempton, and paying off any lienholder, there would not be enough left to make it worthwhile, unless you have some VERY expensive cars.

Your husband's wages, however, if he goes back to work CAN be garnished.
