Id like to see if i understand all the posts written here, it is quite confusing to a newcomer. If an acct from an oc is past 180 being paid, it is charged off. and the cr. bureau is notified it is a chg off. the oc generally turns it over to a ca for collections, and can either work it or purchase it. If the ownere of the debt is contacted they are to not call them but send rrr a request for validation. Now lets say the ca provides them with validation, what next??????If the ca continues to harrass do you send them a C&D, and is the most likely step after that judgement..What is the difference between having a judgement served and being sued??????This will help me understand the process better thanks for your info..i am learning lots..
