Received summons on suit of account FCNB

Yesterday I received a magistrate summons for a "suit on account" filed by First Consumers National Bank. I'm in Georgia and it was filed by a law firm in Georgia. The principal and interest amount is $1700.00. It is my debt but I do not want to go to court. I can pay this amount off in a year if I had the opportunity but I have not been presented an opportunity to do so by this company. What can I do? If I do nothing then what happens?
