YES ! Compass Receivables = NCO !!! I know, I'm dealing with them on 2 accounts and every time they call, my caller ID would show 'compass receivables'. NCO bought out Compass a while back.

So, you're dealing with NCO.. big, big, BAD CA and they will tromp on the FDCPA with abandon. They have already made illegal threats per the FDCPA and they will continue to do so. As observer said, the SOL in VA is 3 years .. ignore NCO and their B.S. and you'll probably be fine until the SOL runs out. While they CAN sue using the NM SOL, which is 4 years, enforcing the judgment would have to talk place where you live now. Unless this is a huge debt, they likely will NOT try to put a lien on your NM property. Besides, in order to do ANYTHING, they have to sue you first and win a judgment.

Lay low, as observer said, and wait out the SOL in VA. Keep a log of all NCO's calls and violations and DO NOT talk to them, its a waste of your time and energy, they're a bunch or cretinous thugs !
