It stays on your credit report for a MAXIMUM of 7 years from the filing date, (if they actually DO sue you and get a judgement)

It stays enforceable against you in Fl for 7 years, it can be renewed for an additional 5 year period, but it is a BIG hassle for a relatively small amount.

The maximum it can be renewed for is up to a total of 20 years.

The collection agents will threaten to sue, to take you to arbitration to hang you by your heels over a nest of scorpions, they LIE, mostly they are trying to see if they can scare you into paying something somehow.

If they see by your credit record you have no assets, no job and are not paying other creditors, they will probably not actually sue.
